ABOUT

The Inn
on Officers' Garden

The Inn on Officers’ Garden began its life in the 1930s – as the Officers’ Mess for Currie Barracks. The exceptional craftsmanship of the past has been incorporated into the workmanship of today. These impressive brand new surroundings are a comfortable place place to gather with friends and family for a meal, a milestone celebration or an overnight stay.

The Inn on Officers’ Garden is registered as an Alberta’s Historic Building along with The Officers’ Mess Garden. We have named a beautiful suite of rooms the QEII in appreciation of the evening in 1951 when by Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh spent an enjoyable romantic night at the Officers’ Mess.

Adjacent to the Inn is The Officers’ Mess Garden. Throughout Currie Barracks’ history it was enjoyed by only the officers; however, today, its gazebo, mature trees, flowering shrubs, pathways, and seating is the perfect location to visit or celebration with friends and family, or to enjoy community events.

The Officer’s Mess Garden continues to be a place of quiet contemplation and natural elegance and some people even believe the trees have been blessed by the years of wishes and hopes of our Canadian soldiers.

We look forward to your visit.
